Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens is located at 6400 Bixby Hill Road. To get there you need to enter a gated community that is right next to CSULB at the end of Palos Verdes. You will see a guard gate there. Just tell them you are there to see the Museum.
Hours are Wednessday – Sunday, 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Admission is Free. Guided tours of the Ranch House usually start every 30 mins.
I do not recommend taking small children on the Ranch House tour because at least in my case the tour guide was cranky and could not deal with my 2 year old claping her hands while she talked. The gardens were really cool and I will be back when my daughter is older.
