What Is El Dorado Nature Center?

El Dorado Nature Center is nestled between the 605 Freeway and the San Gabriel River. Offering an oasis of natural habitat, come here if you’re looking for a bit of nature in the middle of the city. Visitors get the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the urban environment when they visit the El Dorado Nature Center.

The Nature Center grounds cover 105 acres, all providing sanctuary for animals and plant life. Enjoy the diverse terrain, including:

  • Two miles of dirt trails
  • A ¼ mile paved trail that winds around two lakes
  • A stream
  • Forested areas

At the entrance, you’ll find yourself on a small island that houses the Visitor Center after crossing over the wooden bridge that spans the lake. Here you’ll find educational displays, an art gallery, and a small gift shop offering environmentally themed books and gifts.
