The Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble (JCDE) is proud to celebrate the 100th anniversary of NOSFERATU with their very own original live score! Watch two live performances this October.
Who Is the Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble?
The Jack Curtis Dubowskey Ensemble, also known as JCDE, is a team of top players led by composer and conductor Jack Curtis Dubowsky. JCDE combines intricately composed material and structured improvisation, sparking new life with original scores to classic silent films, including:
- Nosferatu
- The Golem
- The Phantom Carriage
- Sunrise
- Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
- The Mark of Zorro
What Is NOSFERATU?
- W. Murnau is known as one of the influential directors of his day. His work, NOSFERATU is an iconic German expressionist film. Starring the famous caricature Dracula, the silent film NOSFERATU exploits this popular character’s many contradictions, including being:
- Worldly but cloistered
- Approachable but distant
- Mannered but deadly
