After a four-year break, The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor is finally returning to Long Beach this fall, and it promises to be bigger and scarier than ever!

From September 20 through November 2, 2024, the iconic haunted vessel will come to life once again, offering an immersive Halloween experience that will captivate thrill-seekers from Long Beach and beyond.

What is Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor?

Originally launched in 2010, Dark Harbor has earned a reputation as one of the premier Halloween events in Southern California. For almost a decade, it has been a must-see destination for those seeking spine-tingling fun.

This year, the City of Long Beach and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, the largest Halloween-themed entertainment company in the world, will revive the event.

They are bringing back some fan-favorite attractions while introducing brand-new mazes and experiences designed to terrify even the bravest of souls.

What’s New for 2024?

This year’s edition of Dark Harbor will not only continue the terrifying tales of past years but will also introduce several exciting new attractions. Among these new offerings is the Lullaby maze, where Scary Mary’s ghost lurks in the Queen Mary’s first-class swimming pool.

Guests will be guided toward a vortex leading to the underworld as Mary’s chilling lullabies echo through the air. Another new maze, Big Top Terror, transforms a traditional carnival into a trap designed to ensnare the innocent, with a twisted Ringmaster leading the way.

Other new features include Feast, a gruesome culinary journey that descends into the haunted depths of the ship’s engine room, and Infirmary, where a sadistic surgeon and his ghostly accomplice torment both the living and the dead.

Returning Favorites

Longtime fans of Dark Harbor can rejoice as some of the event’s beloved characters and attractions return. The popular Dark Harbor Sliders, famous for their thrilling stunts, are back, as is the Voodoo Sound Company, providing lively percussion and entertainment in the VooDoo Bayou.

Fire spinners, magicians, and sideshow performers will also roam the grounds, while hidden speakeasies inside the haunted mazes offer a more exclusive, eerie experience for those who manage to find them.

A new feature this year is the Maiden Voyage Launch Party, held each night at 8:08 pm in the ShipYard. Here, The Captain will summon his monsters from the depths, unleashing them on the streets of Dark Harbor. Be sure to catch this spectacle, as it only happens once per night!
