Looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween with your family in Long Beach? The annual Trick-or-Treat on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore is the perfect event for children, parents, and anyone who enjoys the festive spirit of Halloween.

This beloved local tradition is held on October 31st, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It invites little ghouls and goblins to dress up in their Halloween best and collect treats from participating businesses along 2nd Street.

This free event is open to the public and provides a fun, community-centered experience in the heart of Long Beach.

What to Expect at Trick-or-Treat on 2nd Street

During the event, businesses along 2nd Street display jack-o’-lantern signs in their windows, indicating that they are handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Families can stroll down the bustling street, which spans over 14 blocks, stopping by shops, restaurants, and cafes to collect goodies. It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to enjoy Halloween in a safe, pedestrian-friendly environment while parents can take in the vibrant, festive atmosphere.

In addition to trick-or-treating, the event offers plenty of additional entertainment. Make sure to visit the Chase Bank photo booth, where professional photographers will be on hand to capture your costumes, and you can take home complimentary photo strips as a keepsake.

Live music by the local band The Thingz adds to the festive mood, keeping the energy high as families enjoy their evening out.

Instagram Photo Contest

For those who want to share their creative costumes, Belmont Shore hosts an Instagram Photo Contest during the event. Participants can snap photos of their costumes, upload them to Instagram, and tag @belmontshorelb to enter the contest.

Winners will be announced the next day, and it’s a fun way to showcase your Halloween spirit while possibly winning some great prizes.
