Sal’s Gumbo Shack

Sal’s Gumbo Shack is a Creole and soul food spot in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach, the second shop from owner Sally Bevans, who opened the first in North Long Beach in 2012. Seafood gumbo with shrimp, crab and chicken is the main draw, alongside oxtails, catfish and the Rex Special po’ boy. Colorful New Orleans-style decor fills the room, including a wall of portraits of her heroes.
